An 18-year-old allegedly got beat up Sunday at an Alva bar and had to receive medical treatment in Enid for his injuries.
Sheriff Rudy Briggs Jr., of Woods County Sheriff’s Office, said the incident occurred early Sunday at the Nite-Lite Bar, located at 1220 Lane in Alva.
The teen, Briggs said, was attacked by an unknown number of assailants.
Investigation of the incident is ongoing.
“Deputies have questioned a number of people, they’re collecting rumors,” Briggs said. “They’re trying to determine whether it was an assault.”
Briggs could not specifically name the 18-year-old’s injuries, though he did say the teen suffered “some head trauma.”
He was transported from Share Medical Center in Alva to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.
Briggs said the teen is recovering and he is “doing OK.”
