Tree board giving away trees Thursday, Friday
he city of Enid Tree Board has more trees to give away Thursday and Friday in a program that will benefit Horn of Plenty.
A donation of five canned goods or a $5-per-tree donation is requested, with a 10-tree maximum per person. All donations for the project will help support Horn of Plenty food pantry. The trees include pin oak, swath oak, bald cypress, flowering pear and Chinese pistachio.
Enid Tree Board received more than 2,000 2,000 trees provided by Apache Foundation Tree Grant Program. Nearly 1,000 were given away last week.
Anyone interested can come by the city service center, 1500 W. Poplar, 2-6 p.m. Thursday or Friday. Enid Tree Board members will be there to help distribute the trees while supplies last.

UPDATED photo- Silver Alert issued for missing Garfield County man
Garfield County authorities have issued a Silver Alert for an 88-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since leaving for church. The county sheriff’s office says Edward Sutter was last seen about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when he left home for 1st United Methodist Church in Enid. Sutter never arrived at the church. He was last seen driving a gray, 2003 Toyota Avalon. Authorities had initially said he was driving a Toyota Altima.
