Brittany Jo Bisel, of Okeene, won the 2009 state Colgate Country Showdown on Saturday at McSwain Theatre in Ada.
She also was the winner of last year’s state contest. She received a $1,000 check and the opportunity to compete Nov. 28 at the regional competition at Sky City Casino, Acoma, N.M.
Colgate Country Showdown is the largest nationwide talent search in America. Local winners are selected at competitions sponsored by local radio stations. Bisel won the KNID Radio Showdown in Enid last summer.
She is a 19-year-old freshman attending Oklahoma City Univ-ersity. She is active in the OCU-Leads program, as well as a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
Her parents are Neal and Leigh Bisel.
