Authorities recaptured an elephant Wednesday night that escaped from a circus at Chisholm Trail Expo Center and was involved in an accident on U.S. 81.
A car sideswiped the animal, according to police, but did not sustain any major damage. No one in the vehicle was injured, and the elephant did not appear to be injured either.
Authorities were waiting at 10 p.m. for a vehicle to arrive on the scene to load up the elephant.
