Time change has been made for Team Kids

The time for Team Kids at the First Baptist Church has been changed to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Nardin United Methodist Church will have a fundraiser meal for its trip to Africa 5-8 p.m. Friday in the high school cafeteria before the football game against Timberlake.



Community

The seventh annual North Pole Extravaganza will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at the American Legion building in Lamont. Several distributors will display items and door prizes will be awarded.

The town of Lamont is installing new park equipment. Money will come from two grants and funds raised from a bikeathon.



School

DCLA winners of the Grant County Conservation District soil contest were:

• Poster contest — third grade, Sheldon Schneeberger, second, and Haley Seward, third; fourth grade, Taylor Tingley, second; and fifth grade, Madison Hembree, first, and Abby Webster, third.

• Essay contest, Bailey Shipley, first, Cody Williams, second, and Harrison Muegge, third.

In the eighth-grade contest Katherine Muegge was first, Lane Williams, second and Blake Hoemann, third.

The state cross country meet was Oct. 24. Lindsey Campbell placed 68th and Jacob Blanton placed 30th.

The Veterans Day assembly and dinner will be Nov. 11 in the old gym in Lamont. The assembly will start at 10:30 a.m., and the lunch will be at 11:30 a.m.

The high school quiz bowl team of Chad Mendenhal, Jill Hobbs, Morgan Hamm, Kayl Tingley, David Moss and Rachel Kirby will compete Saturday is the Kremlin-Hillsdale invitational and Nov. 14 in the regional meet at Kremlin.

The high school football team will host Timberlake on Friday. Games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Senior Night will be Friday.
