Clark-Perrin American Legion Post 190 in Covington recently held a memorial service for Art Helling. Rick and Connie Oxford presented the Legion with a donation in memory of Helling, Connie’s father.

More than 175 people attended the Tri-County Senior Citizens Center fundraising dinner Oct. 18.
The center will receive matching money from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Masons of Cresent. Winners of the door prizes were Larry Daylor, Ruby Branson, Karry Frankie, Barbara Branson, Spencer LeForce, Sue Scott and Shawn Bateman. Gifts were donated by United Supermarket of Enid.

Hopewell Club met at Tri-County Senior Citizens Center Oct. 19 with Betty Clickner as hostess.
The next meeting will be Nov. 16 with Evelyn Clod-felter as hostess. Also attending were Joyce Cooper, Mary Wyssman, Ruby Schoeling, Clodfelter, Dorothy Murphy and Betty Clickner.

Covington-Douglas 4-H Club met Oct. 14. Gavyn Reim reported he placed fourth with his Duroc barrow at the Tulsa State Fair and sixth with his crossbred barrow. Byron Rupp placed 14th with his Chester.
The local 4-H will apply for a foundation grant to be used to improve something in the community.
The 4-H achievement banquet will be Nov. 8 in Enid. A number of 4-H members will prepare for the Share the Fun event to be held Nov. 22. The next 4-H meeting will be 3:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the school cafeteria.
