Fairview to take part in Make a Difference Day
Make a Difference Day is today, and Fairview will take an active part.
Sponsored by Fairview Lions Club, workers have been soliciting for projects through several churches in the Ministerial Alliance, the Lions Club and local businesses.
Workers are to meet at the Methodist Church on East Elm at 7 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be furnished by the Lions Club. Assign-ments will be made then.
Lunch is expected to be provided for workers at noon by women of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the Methodist Church.

Applications for weatherization inspections will be available for people who have concerns about adequate protection from the elements during seasons of bad weather.
This program is presented by Opportunities Inc. of Watonga, an organization that provides much support to people in need in Fairview and Major County. Grant money has been made available to Opportunities Inc. so qualified homes might receive work to stop air filtration, including insulation of attics. Church
Catherine Zoller will be the speaker for Laity Sunday on Sunday at Fairview First United Methodist Church.
She is a writer, author and inspirational speaker who brings messages to church groups. Her newest book, “The Rhyme and Reason Series: Genesis,” has been released recently. She will review that and give her talk, “Ouch, God! That Hurts!” an approach to handling suffering in one’s life.
Worship service at the church, 811 E. Elm, starts at 10 a.m. The public is invited.

UPDATED photo- Silver Alert issued for missing Garfield County man
Garfield County authorities have issued a Silver Alert for an 88-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since leaving for church. The county sheriff’s office says Edward Sutter was last seen about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when he left home for 1st United Methodist Church in Enid. Sutter never arrived at the church. He was last seen driving a gray, 2003 Toyota Avalon. Authorities had initially said he was driving a Toyota Altima.
