Covington-Douglas Board of Education met Oct. 5.
The board voted to leave the school policy of the FFA chapter attending National FFA Convention as is.
They also voted to leave transfer policy as is.
They approved the closing of split precincts with fewer than 25 voters.
There will be an annual election for school board seat 5, Marshall, presently held by Paula Harak.

Covington-Douglas schools newly elected 4-H officers are Gavyn Reim, president; Jonathan Cooper, vice president; Kandis Rupp, secretary; Clay Brown, treasurer; Byron Rupp, reporter; Sarah Smith and Malina Lemmons, song leaders; and Riley Rupp and Savannah Brown, game leaders.

The high school football team will travel to Deer Creek-Lamont today with game time at 7:30 p.m.

The regional cross country meet will be held Saturday at Chisholm.

The fifth- through eighth-grade football teams will host Deer Creek-Lamont Monday with games starting at 5 p.m.

The junior varsity football team will host the Oklahoma City Patriots at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The town of Covington regular board meeting was held Oct 7.
The board approved a contract with the Independent School District No. 94 of Garfield County and the town of Covington for a school crossing guard.
A report from several city departments was given.
Mayor Jim Postier presented Police Chief Cory Rink with a letter of appreciation on behalf of National Night Out 2009 conducted Aug. 4, commenting Rink was willing to go the Òextra mileÓ in doing whatever it took to get this mission accomplished.
