Enid Transit announced a new promotion for veterans during the month of October.
Kim Watkins, director of Enid Transit, said veterans can ride free to and from the new Veterans Affairs clinic, 915 E. Garriott, Suite G.
“If you ride curb-to-curb we need 24-hour notice. But if you are riding fixed route, just tell the driver where you are going and he will drop you off,” Watkins said.
Transit also provides transportation for veterans to the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. That service is a permanent offer. Watkins said the cost is $100 for up to 10 people.
“If you get 10 people to go it will only cost you $10,” Watkins said.
A new promotion for Enid residents starting in October is half-price Saturdays. Any Enid resident can ride the Transit for half price on Saturday.
Oct. 12-31 residents also may ride the Transit for a donation of two cans of food to Horn of Plenty.
