Fall carnival in Deer Creek reset for Oct. 24
PTO fall carnival date has been changed to Oct. 24 at Deer Creek Elementary School. The meal will start at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria followed by the carnival 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the gym.
To set up a game booth, contact one of the PTO members.

The next PTO meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Deer Creek Elementary’s cafeteria.

The 21st Century After School Program needs clean and empty tomato juice sized cans, vegetable sized cans, any size baby food jars and pint jars. Submit them to either school library.

On Friday, the Deer Creek firemen and the Farm Bureau Fire House will be at the elementary school.

The DCLA National Honor Society built several raised flower beds at the outdoor classroom in Deer Creek and have helped plant them each spring. There are perennials, tulips and jonquils in early spring and mums in the fall.

DCLA cross country teams attended a meet Oct. 3 at Timberlake. Results are high school boys – Jacob Blanton (2nd); high school girls – Lindsey Campbell (2nd)/ Marian Muegge (5th), Ariel Warrior (7th), Rachel Kirby (6th) and Karen Golay (12th); and junior high girls – Katherine Muegge (7th), Shelby McKee (18th), Contessa Travis (17th), Chi Anne Jeffries (21st) and Cansas Swaggart (22nd).

Christ’s Church in Deer Creek will hold its annual Garage Sale of Love 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 24.

UPDATED photo- Silver Alert issued for missing Garfield County man
Garfield County authorities have issued a Silver Alert for an 88-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since leaving for church. The county sheriff’s office says Edward Sutter was last seen about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when he left home for 1st United Methodist Church in Enid. Sutter never arrived at the church. He was last seen driving a gray, 2003 Toyota Avalon. Authorities had initially said he was driving a Toyota Altima.
