Quiz bowl team attends first meet
Drummond High School quiz bowl team attended its first meet of the season Sept. 26 at Redlands Community College in El Reno.
William Neiswanger and Evan Mooney lettered for the year. Mooney served as team captain. The team consisted of Mooney, Neiswanger, Clint Gates and William Morrow. The team won nine games and lost two games, both to Edmond Santa Fe.
As a result, Drummond qualified for the national NAQT tournament in Chicago for 2010. Winners were Edmond Santa Fe, first; Drummond, second; Edmond Memorial, third; and Stillwater A, fourth.

Several Drummond FCA members attended FCA Gameday at Oklahoma State University on Sept. 26. They participated in gameday activities and watched the OSU-Grambling football game.

See You At The Pole was Sept. 23. All high school students, grade school students and faculty were invited.

Drummond FCCLA has been busy this month.
North Region 3 District meeting was Sept. 16 in Hennessey. FCCLA members from the region took part in the meeting, which included games, ice breakers, hot spots and keynote speaker, Travis Borsen. Borsen and his dog, Presley, wowed the audience with their great tricks. They won the “Great American Dog” reality television last fall.
Drummond was represented by Meghan Bartnick, who is serving as North Region 3 vice president.She led the meeting, along with the other district officers, and with the help of state officers, including another Drum-mond student, Mallory Craig.
FCCLA members are selling Red Wheel products through Oct. 8. Products will be in Oct. 22.

UPDATED photo- Silver Alert issued for missing Garfield County man
Garfield County authorities have issued a Silver Alert for an 88-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since leaving for church. The county sheriff’s office says Edward Sutter was last seen about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when he left home for 1st United Methodist Church in Enid. Sutter never arrived at the church. He was last seen driving a gray, 2003 Toyota Avalon. Authorities had initially said he was driving a Toyota Altima.
