The Deer Creek-Lamont 4-H and FFA Boosters also will be doing a chicken noodle dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, sponsored by the Chikaskia Masonic Lodge 109. Donations will be accepted.

Some DCLA girls have co-oped with the Medford softball team. They are Courtney Kirby, Katy Starr, Haley Stacy and Bennett Shipley. They will be playing in the District Softball Tournament at Pond Creek – Hunter at 1 p.m. today.

The PTO is going to have a fall carnival from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 22 with a meal at 6. Any group who is interested in doing a game booth needs to contact one of the PTO members. The next meeting is 7 pm. Oct. 1 in the Deer Creek cafeteria.

The elementary will be starting their 21st Century after school program beginning on Monday. The schedule will be Mondays, piano keyboarding/activity 3:30-4:30; Tuesdays and Thurs-days will be everyone from 3:30-4:30; and Wednesday will be for students who need tutoring and also quiz bowl for 4th and 6th grades.

The Lamont United Methodist Church will begin their Fireproof study at 6 p.m. Sunday with the movie “Fireproof.” The 6-week study will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 11. Nursery will be provided. The youth group also will be doing a mission meal right after services on Sunday.
