OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City police have identified the person who was killed in an accident on Lake Hefner Parkway last week.
Officers say 59-year-old Randall Garton Sr. of Cashion died Thursday.
Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight says Garton was headed north on the parkway, also known as State Highway 74, about 4:15 p.m. when his vehicle rear-ended another at a point where the road narrows north of Memorial Road.
The accident occurred during the start of rush hour in Oklahoma City. The northbound lanes were closed for hours and traffic was diverted off the highway.
Authorities say Garton wasn’t wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
