Fire destroys house on Wabash
Fire destroyed a two-bedroom wood-frame home at 215 E. Wabash early Saturday morning.
Enid Fire Marshal Ken Helms said the structure was fully involved in flames upon arrival by the first fire units at approximately 5:40 a.m. A primary and secondary search of the house was conducted, and it was determined no one was home at the time of the blaze.
Helms said the structure was a total loss, and that a neighbor called to report the fire. He said the family that lived at the address was out of town.
Helms went on to say firefighters found a back door to the house open upon arrival, and the incident is being investigated as a possible burglary. The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation as a possible arson.
