Hampton to perform tonight at cowboy church
R.W. Hampton, a western entertainers in America today, will be in concert at 7 tonight at Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church, located five miles west of Atwoods on U.S. 412 at Winter Livestock.
He grew up in Texas and worked on ranches all over the American West. In 1988, he changed professions and decided to make his living by playing music. He has performed across the U.S.
In 1985, he played and sang in Kenny Rogers’ movie “Wild Horses.” He also has appeared in 10 other movies including “The Tracker” and “The Gambler III.” He has 11 albums to his credit over the past 20 years and was voted Top Male Performer for 2004 by Western Music Association.
Hampton lives with his wife and family on a ranch south of Cimarron, N.M.
Suddenlink to host customer appreciation
Suddenlink Communications, 131 E. Maine, will host a customer appreciation cookout 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings and refreshments will be served in appreciation for voting them No. 1 in the Reader’s Choice Awards for best cable and Internet provider.

UPDATED photo- Silver Alert issued for missing Garfield County man
Garfield County authorities have issued a Silver Alert for an 88-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since leaving for church. The county sheriff’s office says Edward Sutter was last seen about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when he left home for 1st United Methodist Church in Enid. Sutter never arrived at the church. He was last seen driving a gray, 2003 Toyota Avalon. Authorities had initially said he was driving a Toyota Altima.
