A 53-year-old Vici woman and her granddaughter were injured Thursday afternoon on U.S. 60 when the woman’s vehicle went off the road and rolled one and half times, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Vonietta Wyatt was taken by helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with leg and body injuries and is listed in critical condition. Her granddaughter, 12-year-old Brittany Ann Wyatt, also of Vici, was taken to Woodward Regional Hospital with arm injuries and was treated and released.
According to an OHP report, Wyatt was driving westbound about 4:28 p.m. on U.S. 60 about three miles west of Vici when she left the road to the right, overcorrected and overturned. Wyatt and her granddaughter were ejected an unknown distance.
The report lists the cause of the crash as “distraction inside the vehicle” and states neither Wyatt nor her granddaughter were wearing seat belts. Wyatt’s condition was listed as “apparently normal.”
