Four people were injured in a two-car crash east of Watonga about 12:05 p.m. Sunday.
Kayli L. Grove, 17, Hailey White, 16, Delores Ewers, 74, and Phillip Ewers, 81, were all hospitalized following the accident.
Grove was taken to the Watonga hospital with head injuries and was admitted for observation. White was taken to OU Medical Center with head and neck injuries and was listed in serious condition. Delores Ewers was taken by Medi-Flight to OU Medical Center with leg, and internal trunk injuries and was admitted in serious condition. Phillips Ewers also was taken by Medi-Flight to OU Medical Center with chest injuries and was listed in serious condition.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports stated a 2002 Honda driven by Grove was northbound on a county road and the Ewers’ vehicle was eastbound on Oklahoma 3. Grove failed to yield at a stop sign and the Ewers struck Grove’s vehicle. Grove and White both were ejected about 20 feet from where the vehicle came to rest, according to OHP reports.
The accident was investigated by OHP Trooper Chris Banwart of Troop J.
