Hardy Watkins, executive director of Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, will be special guest and speaker at a luncheon sponsored by Waynoka Historical Society and Waynoka Industrial Authority.
The luncheon will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the south dining room at El Charro at the Harvey House, 1386 Cleveland.
Watkins has served as executive director of Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department since March 2006, when he was appointed to the position by the state’s Transportation Commission. Prior to joining OTR, Watkins coordinated all activities related to construction, completion and opening of Oklahoma City National Memorial and Memorial Center Museum.
A native Oklahoman, Watkins is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a major in journalism. He and his wife, Kari, and their two children reside in Edmond.
