Enid Police Department, Enid Animal Control and local veterinarians will conduct their annual clinic Sunday, giving pet owners the opportunity to have their pets vaccinated and licensed at a discount price.
The annual city of Enid animal clinic will be noon to 5 p.m. at Convention Hall. It is open to the public and includes rabies vaccinations and pet licenses for $9 per pet.
“By getting your animal registered and tagged, that avoids any additional fine if your animal is loose,” Enid Police Department Capt. Jack Morris said. “It helps us in locating the owner of the animal and getting them back home.”
According to a city ordinance, licenses are required for every dog, cat and pot-bellied pig age of 6 months or older in Enid.
Last year, about 750 people brought their animals to the clinic, Morris said.
Morris said the city of Enid animal control center will be closed Sunday because staff will be at the clinic, but animal control officers would still be working.
