No real losses were sustained during a grass fire that burned approximately 80 acres Friday morning.
“No major damages,” said Garber Fire Chief Reese Wedel. “Nothing really out there.”
The fire mostly destroyed dead grass and some wood, he said.
The fire was located a half mile north of U.S. 412 and a mile east of Oklahoma 74. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Responding to the fire were rural departments from Hunter, Covington, Garber and Fairmont, Wedel said.
The fire was reported shortly before 11 a.m. Friday and was under control by 1:30 p.m.
“It took about two hours, two and a half hours, to get it under control,” Wedel said.
