Okeene Public Schools’ Rise and Shine Assembly will be Monday with the second-grade class in charge of the program.
Okeene Whippet football players picked by Oklahoma Coaches Association for the Class A all-star team are Brock Wardlaw, linebacker; Ryan Haffner, offensive lineman; and Matt Benham, running back. Making the Oklahoma Coaches Association is all-state team was Brock Wardlaw, wide receiver.

December Elementary Kids of the Month have been announced. They are Zipporah Hawkins, Kelsi Burghardt, Gabriela Resendiz, Samanth Ellington, Kaitlyn Jordan, Emily Cusack and Tristin Barton. Turning in the most collections sheets was Samantha Ellington. Each student received a small prize and certificate.

Brittany Jo Bisel has been selected for the third year to perform with the OMDA All-State Women’s Choir. The concert will be 1 p.m. Jan. 17 at Bethany First Nazarene Church. She will be recognized along with the others who have made the choir during their three years of high school. She is the daughter of Neal and Leigh Anne Bisel.
