Park Avenue Thrift will have its second annual open house 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
St. Nicholas will arrive on a horse at 11 a.m., and award prizes to the winners of the elementary school Christmas quilt block coloring contest. Fourteen teachers will receive $900 in prize awards.
Special music and events will be 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including bagpipes, Irish harp, a family band, Irish prose and poetry reading, and special vocalists. The first 100 customers will receive a festive holiday table covering. There also will be special bargains and drawings for gift certificates throughout the day.
