Ombudsmen volunteer training session set Wednesday, Thursday

An Ombudsmen volunteer training session organized through Northern Oklahoma Development Authority will be 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

Ombudsmen are nursing home resident advocates certified by the state who are supported by volunteers to visit approximately 20 to 21 nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Volunteer Ombudsmen commit to visiting nursing home residents two hours a week and are trained to help resolve issues within the home. Volunteers complete a simple monthly report and attend a two-hour training meeting monthly.
