An Oklahoma City man was injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Kingfisher County.
John William Van Worth, 36, was driving east on a blacktop road east of Loyal at 4:30 p.m. when he ran off the road and overcorrected twice to avoid hitting a bridge, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. He lost control his 2006 GMC 5500 Series bobtail truck and rolled once before striking a fence and a utility pole.
Van Worth, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained head, trunk and internal injuries.
He was transported to Kingfisher Regional Hospital before being moved to OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City. Van Worth was listed in stable condition.
The OHP report listed “inattention” as the cause of the accident.
Trooper Jim Chaloupek was assisted by Loyal Fire Department, Kingfisher Sheriff’s Office and Kingfisher County EMS.
