Enid man charged with rape

A 26-year-old Enid man charged with rape could face up to life in prison if convicted of the charge.

Walter Lee Hill Jr. was charged in Garfield County District Court Wednesday with a single count of first-degree rape for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl sometime Aug. 19 and 20, according to the charges. The charge is punishable by five years to life in prison.

According to an affidavit filed with the charge, Enid police received a report about 5 a.m. Aug. 20 from a 16-year-old girl who told an officer she had repeatedly been raped between 11 p.m. Aug. 19 and 4 a.m. Aug. 20.

The girl told police she was held against her will and not allowed to leave or call for help at an unknown address in the Southern Heights-East Park addition, the affidavit states. The girl gave police a description of the house, which officers were able to locate.

The girl told police she was introduced to her attacker, who she only knew as Tony or “Mago,” at the residence she described to police. She said she entered a bedroom with only a mattress in it and “Mago” followed her inside and sexually assaulted her.

The girl identified Hill as her attacker in a photo lineup provided by police, who served a search warrant at Hill’s home and took him into custody on outstanding city of Enid warrants, according to the affidavit.

Hill initially denied having any sexual contact with anyone the night before, according to the affidavit. Hill said he and another man had gone out about 5 p.m. Aug. 19 and he returned to the house about 10 p.m. and went to sleep.

However, Hill told police later he’d had sex with a woman, possibly named Sarah, which is not the name of the victim, according to the affidavit.

According to online court records, Hill has not made an appearance in court on the charges.
