NOC was established in 1901 and is a public, two-year community college with campuses in Tonkawa, Enid and Stillwater. It has a total enrollment of approximately 6,000. The college is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and offers associate degrees in three general areas: arts, science and applied science. Students can choose from more than 40 degree programs at the Enid location.

The objective of the associate’s degree is to offer programs of instruction that will enable the college transfer student to fulfill lower-division requirements toward a bachelor’s degree.

Agreements with state universities allow NOC’s associate in arts and associate in science degrees to transfer to all state four-year institutions. The degree in applied science degree represents a career program for those seeking training and job skills. In addition to traditional degree programs, 18 programs are offered in partnership with technology centers and business.

Rick Edgington, associate vice president of enrollment management/registrar, said NOC has an open-door policy and small class sizes, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 32:1. He said there is financial aid available for those who qualify to help pay for college in the form of loans, scholarships, grants and work-study.

NOC offers daytime, evening, online and weekend classes. Housing is available for those wishing to live on the campus. There are residence halls at the Tonkawa and Enid locations, as well as duplexes and triplexes at Tonkawa.
