Enid Elks Lodge has named Capt. Bob Engler Firefighter of the Month for July.
Engler has been with Vance Air Force Base for 29 years. He is formerly of Detroit, Mich., where he graduated from East Catholic High School.
He received his special training and firefighters training at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill.
He and his wife, Ginger, live in Waukomis and are members of Emman-uel Baptist Church of Enid. They have two grown children, Jeremy Becker and Tammy Grantz, both of Enid.
His hobbies are hunting and golf.
