An article in Sunday’s News & Eagle about rural health care in Cherokee gave an incorrect impression that the community has been without a health clinic.
Since 1993, Cherokee Family Clinic has been operated through Integris Bass Baptist Health Center with a primary care physician, who specializes in pulmonology and internal medicine, a physician’s assistant, an OB/GYN (since 2002) and a heart specialist (since 2007).
Great Salt Plains Health Center is the newest clinic in the area, opening Jan. 14.
