The entry deadline for Enid YWCA’s STOP Racism and Prejudice Youth Challenge has been extended to March 24.
Dena Patterson, YWCA children’s services director, said schools or groups are invited to participate in the community anti-racism project.
The challenge is for children in third through sixth and seventh through 12th grades.
Registration packets for the 2008 Stop Racism and Prejudice Youth Challenge also are available at the YWCA, 525 S. Quincy.
The goal of the program is to empower young people with skills to lead and influence others to eliminate racism and prejudice by completing one of 21 challenges, Patterson said.
The registration deadline has been extended by 10 days, and projects must be submitted by April 11, Patterson said. The awards ceremony if scheduled for April 23.
Anyone who wishes to volunteer to plan, coordinate or judge the youth challenge can contact Patterson at the YWCA at 234-7581.
