NOC to host ACT workshop
Chad Cargill, founder and president of Cargill Consulting, will conduct an ACT workshop on the Northern Oklahoma College Enid campus, according in Steve Glazier, NOC Enid director of counseling services.
Area high school students who have made reservations through their counselors will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Montgomery Hall, located in the Hallie Gantz Student Center, 100 S. University.
College students who plan to take the ACT in order to raise their scores also have been invited.
Cargill, a graduate of Oklahoma State Uni-versity with a degree in industrial engineering, developed strategies for taking the ACT test following his own experiences as a high school student. In his workshop, he will teach the techniques that allowed him to raise his own ACT score from 19 to 32 while testing 18 times.
Although NOC Enid has an open-door admissions policy, students’ ACT scores are required for enrollment and high school students must meet state-mandated ACT requirements to enroll concurrently.
NOC Enid is an official National ACT testing site. The next ACT testing date is Oct. 28. Additional ACT testing dates for the 2006-07 academic year are Dec. 9, Feb. 10, April 14 and June 9.
