ENID, Okla. —
A structure fire on West Randolph and smoke in the hallway at Chisholm Elementary School turned out to be minor calls for Enid Fire Department Thursday afternoon.
Capt. Harvey Lenard said the fire on West Randolph was “almost nothing.”
The fire was caused by an electrical short from a light on the side of the building. The short was on an area that had been added onto the building.
“He (resident) just about had it out by the time we arrived,” Lenard said.
Chisholm Elementary School experienced smoke in the hallways, but it turned out to be a light ballast and no damage was done.
“It was a good fire drill for them. They got everybody out of the building, but it wasn’t really anything serious,” Lenard said.
