Deer Creek-Lamont National Honor Society held its induction of new members and installation of officers Aug. 30.
New members are Hunter Whitehead, Darian Caudillo, Connor Kirby, Derek Dowell, Andrew Coufal, Brennan Hutton, Jacob Blanton and Landon Tingley.
Officers are president, Jillian Hobbs; vice president, Chad Mendenhall; secretary, Sara Coufal; treasurer, Alexia Pennington; and reporter, Mindy Blaser.

FFA and 4-H Booster Club hosted a hamburger and hot dog feed Aug. 20 in the Deer Creek Elementary School cafeteria.
Members of the community met the new ag teacher. Many FFA members volunteered to help serve, cook and clean up.
FFA members also painted the post in front of the high school with a new coat of white paint.

The high school football team will open the season at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Waukomis. The team will play at Braman on Sept. 10.
