A Watonga man has been admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head, arm and trunk injuries after hitting a deer with his motorcycle.
Gary Wills, 73, of Watonga, was riding northbound on his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Oklahoma 54 when he struck a deer, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. The collision occurred in Custer County, approximately 1.5 miles north of Arapaho Road.
The accident occured at 6:10 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the impact caused the motorcycle, with driver and one passenger, to skid approximately 190 feet on its side, leaving the roadway on the right and coming to rest in a ditch.
Wills was taken to Weatherford Hospital before being admitted to OU Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition, according to the report.
The passenger, Joy Wills, 63, of Watonga, was taken to Weatherford Hospital and was treated and released.
