A Fairview woman was listed in stable condition today after the car she was driving collided with another Saturday night near Ringwood.
Crystal Dawn Nelson, 32, of Fairview, was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following the accident south of Ringwood on Oklahoma 58.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a Hyundai driven by Shelley Marie West, 45, of Ames, was northbound at about 8:50 p.m. on Oklahoma 58 and a Pontiac, driven by Nelson, was southbound on Oklahoma 58. West crossed the center line and struck Nelson. Nelson was pinned inside her car for about 30 minutes.
Nelson was taken by Major County EMS to St. Mary’s, where she was admitted with leg injuries. West was taken by Ringwood EMS to St. Mary’s, where she was treated and released.
West’s passenger, Jake Thomas Knight, 16, of Fairview, also was taken to St. Mary’s, where he was treated and released.
Nelson’s passengers, Marie Ann Nunley, 40, of Fairview, was not injured, and Amber Deann Posey, 28, of Fairview, was taken to St. Mary’s, where she was treated and released.
Alcohol was cited as the cause of the accident.
Another accident Sunday afternoon resulted in a Geary woman being listed in critical condition at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
OHP reported the accident occurred at about 10:37 a.m. 41⁄2 miles south of Watonga on a county road in Blaine County.
Amanda Lee Wyatt, 23, of Geary, was northbound on the county road when she lost control. The Nissan left the roadway to the right, striking a fence and rolled. Wyatt was ejected 19 feet.
She was taken to Watonga Hospital and later transferred by Eagle Med to OU Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.
Her passenger, Tressa Smith, 23, of Geary, refused medical treatment at the scene.
OHP reported the cause of the accident was Wyatt was driving at an unsafe speed.
