ENID —
Attention all foodies: It’s not too late to score tickets for Tuesday’s Taste of Home Cooking School in Enid.
The 15th annual Taste of Home Cooking School in Enid once again will feature the cooking expertise of Owasso resident Jamie Dunn.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Dunn holds a degree in home economics education. She has worked as a culinary instructor for Tulsa Technology and Bama Cooking Schools and taught high school home economics.
Deborah Knoll, advertising director for the Enid News & Eagle, said national sponsors for Taste of Home Cooking School include Gallo Family Vinyards, Heinz Classico, Minute Rice, Mushroom Council and the Philadelphia company.
“Everyone who attends will get a goodie bag filled with all sorts of things,” Knoll said. “Each has well over 20 items from national sponsors and local businesses, along with a copy of the current Taste of Home Cooking magazine.”
More than 20 door prizes will be given away as well, including a weekend for two at Hampton Inn, dinner at Panevino, and a pair of tickets to the Gaslight Theatre.
Knoll said the dishes Dunn will prepare on stage during the cooking school are all recipes from the magazine edition show attendees will receive in their goodie bags.
People come from throughout the region to attend the show, Knoll said.
“It’s almost sold out every year,” Knoll said. “It’s the only Taste of Home Cooking School in northwest Oklahoma.”
Taste of Home Cooking School will be Tuesday at Cherokee Strip Conference Center, 123 W. Maine. Doors will open at 3 p.m. and exhibitor booths open at 3:30 p.m. Buffalo Wild Wings will cater the event, with meals available for $7.
Advance tickets remain available through 5 p.m. Monday at the Enid News & Eagle office, 227 W. Broadway. Ticket price is $10 in advance, $15 at the door and $25 for special reserved seats.
