ENID —
A magician will perform an educational and magical show at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Cherokee Strip Conference Center as part of Public Library of Enid and Garfield County’s summer reading program.
Library Director Michelle Mears said magician Steve Crawford teaches scientific information in an entertaining way through magic tricks. During audience participation, water will drain from a participant’s elbow, a glass of water will float in the air and water items held by children will switch places.
Teens also may experience a workshop at 4 p.m. Friday at the conference center.
“The magician will teach them magic tricks, and they will go home with their own bag of tricks,” Mears said.
Crawford has been performing more than 40 years after learning magic at Ponca City Public Library.
He has performed across the United States and has opened for Evel Knievel and Alice Cooper. He also has worked on Fox TV’s “Magical Mystery Tour.”
He has won two international magic competitions and has performed at Sea World and Six Flags. Now he spends time visiting Oklahoma schools and libraries.
