Residential water pressure returning to normal

ENID, Okla. — Residential water pressure is being raised back to normal levels, and industrial water use has resumed, said Enid City Manager Eric Benson.

As of 4:30 p.m. Benson said normal power has been re-established by OG&E Electric Services at the city’s water well fields near Ames and Drummond, and generators from those sites are being shifted to the more remote wells near Cleo Springs and Ringwood.

Benson said the city currently is producing water at a rate sufficient to meet residential demand, supply industrial users and replenish storage.

Industrial supply was restored at noon, and is being incrementally increased to full supply to prevent overpressuring supply lines.

Residential water pressure, which had been reduced by half to conserve water, has been incrementally increased by several PSI per hour since this morning, and should reach normal pressure by later this evening, Benson said.
