Hospice Circle of Love fall book sale Friday, Saturday

ENID, Okla. — It will be a book-lover’s bonanza Friday and Saturday at Hospice Circle of Love’s annual fall book sale.

Julie Nelson, community relations director for Hospice Circle of Love, said there will be more than 1,000 books at the organization’s 24th annual fall book sale.

“It is one of our oldest fundraisers and is something people have supported very well throughout the years,” Nelson said.

Last year’s fall sale raised nearly $5,000 for the nonprofit organization, Nelson said.

“We have a lot of different nonfiction books, Westerns, children’s books, cookbooks, romance novels and a large selection of mystery stories,” Nelson said of the assortment of books that will be offered for sale. “We have a large assortment of large-print books, and we have a religious section and science books.

Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents. Harlequin romances are $5 a bag.

“You can find books in there that look like they’ve never been read,” Nelson said. “It is a really good deal.”

Proceeds from the sale benefit hospice patients, Nelson said.

The sale will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hospice office, 314 S. 3rd.

The fall book sale is one of five annual fundraisers for Hospice Circle of Love. A December Tree of Life event, a fall clay shoot, a Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Jubilee and a spring book sale round out the annual fundraisers.
