Candace Kenyon will guest speaker at Monday’s meeting of Cherokee Strip Piecemakers Quilt Guild.
The meeting will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway. The group meets the third Monday of each month except December.
Kenyon describes herself as an “accidental artist.” She began creating fabric collage art 10 years ago after moving from Colorado to Oklahoma. She now lives in Austin, Texas.
She has been featured in local magazines and newspapers and most recently in the nationally published Studios magazine. Her art has been displayed in restaurants, doctors’ offices and for the past seven years has been represented by Eureka Springs Fine Art Gal-lery in Eureka Springs, Ark.
She has entered her art in local and regional art shows and has won many awards. Her most prized is from the nationally judged Fiberworks show in Oklahoma City.
She has taught her technique on a limited basis in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
