The Garfield County Rural Rotatory met Jan. 17 for its regular monthly meeting and covered-dish luncheon. The meeting was hosted by Jerry and Sue Schmidt at their country home near Breckinridge.
Clarence Leschied, a consultant with Northstar Agri-Industries, gave the program and enlightened the group about the benefits of canola oil and having a canola plant being constructed near Enid. The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
The 2013 officers of the Rural Rotatory were installed. They are Judy Anglin, president; Gene Anderson, vice president; Charles Buckminster, 2nd vice president; Sue Schmidt, secretary/treasurer; Pat Milacek, assistant secretary treasurer; Louise Milacek, reporter; Louella Hermanski, song leader; and membership committee are Jane Denker, Alan Milacek and Elmer Anglin.
Judy Anglin will be installed as the first women president since the organization was formed in 1925.

Donations being taken for tornado victims
Donations can be made by visiting www.redcross.org or $10 can be donated by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999. The donation will be added to your monthly cell phone bill. Monetary donations are being taken at the Red Cross office, 1023 West Elm, in Enid. A supply drop-off is at 2811 W. Garriott.
