Enid man is arrested after double-stabbing

ENID, Okla. — Enid Police arrested an Enid man in connection with a double-stabbing early Saturday morning at Scooters.

Enid Police Sgt. Bryan Hart said Alejandro Garcia, 33, was arrested by police following a fight at the bar in which two men were hurt.

According to a report, Sgt. Rick Tanner and Sgt. Nick John went to the club as a follow-up investigation on a separate investigation. While there, security notified them of a fight. They saw the fight, and Garcia, swinging his arms, apparently fighting. Both sergeants were alerted he had a knife in his possession and was stabbing people, Hart said.

Garcia was ordered to show his hands, but he did not comply. Officers deployed a Taser, and he was taken into custody.

An investigation found Garcia had a knife and had stabbed two people in the leg. Both were non-life-threatening injuries. One victim was taken to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, and the other refused treatment.

Garcia was booked into Garfield County Detention Center for public intoxication; resisting arrest; possession of paraphernalia, possibly a methamphetamine pipe; destruction of evidence; and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Also on Sunday morning, officers stopped a man driving in an erratic manner. Hart said Officer Robert McFadden turned on his lights, but the individual, identified as Ronald Lynn Gonce, of Canyon, Texas, did not stop. McFadden followed him for several blocks before he stopped. McFadden called for assistance, and several units responded and officers approached with guns drawn.

“That was just a precaution,” Hart said, referring to the drawn weapons.

Gonce was cited and released for reckless driving.
