ENID, Okla. —
Oakwood Mall in Enid will host Northwest District 4-H Day on Saturday.
This is a yearly event that gives 4-H’ers in 17 counties an opportunity to share their projects with others through educational working displays, speech contests, style and talent shows, and a mini-float parade. Activities have been planned to involve all 4-H members sharing their interest and knowledge.
As a way of beginning a day of programs for the public, a short parade of mini-floats is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. 4-H floats will represent a 4-H club, a community or a county. County officers will be responsible for designing and building a mini-float representative of their county.
The style and talent shows will be 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Working displays will be set up at several locations throughout the mall, and will be running 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 4-Hers will give an informal presentation about their projects, which may include 4-H projects like dogs, goats, horses, visual arts, shooting sports, food and nutrition, child care, wildlife and photography.
There also will be an opportunity for 4-H leaders and volunteers to participate in a volunteer training sessions and volunteer conferences at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion to take back to their county, and door prizes will be given in each session.
