Marshall man is killed in collision

ENID, Okla. — A Marshall man was killed Saturday when his car was struck by another vehicle on a Logan County road, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Report.

According to the report, Mark Navratil, 35, of Marshall, was pronounced dead at the scene from head and external trunk injuries. He was a passenger in a 2008 Chevrolet HHR driven by Sherri Shimanek, 45, also of Marshall. Shimanek was transported by Eagle Med to OU Medical Center and admitted in stable condition with head, external trunk and arm injuries.

Another passenger in the car, Matthew Fuller, 30, of Marshall was taken by Crescent EMS to OU Medical center, where he was treated for minor head injuries and was released.

The accident occurred at 7:23 p.m. on County Road 60 at Council in Logan County. A 2002 Ford F250, driven by Matthew Harak, 17, of Marshall, was traveling north on Council, while Shimanek’s vehicle was traveling east on County Road 60. Shimanek failed to yield to Harak on the right, causing the F250 to strike the HHR on the passenger side and making it roll one quarter time, coming to land on its driver side.

Harak was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and with minor head injuries and released. A passenger in Harak’s vehicle, Kayla Jantz, 18, of Enid, also was taken to St. Mary’s, where she was treated  with minor head injuries and released.

Navratil was a newspaper carrier for the Enid News & Eagle.
