ENID, Okla. —
A fundraiser for Carol Rust will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Skatetown, 905 Overland Trail.
Admission is $5 plus skates. Proceeds will go to the Rust Family Medical Fund at Alva State Bank & Trust. A Facebook page has been set up to keep people informed on her progress.
“We received word they had finally found a perfect lung donor on Dec. 17. We were all extremely excited that our long wait may finally be over and that we may be getting an early Christmas present for our Momma,” said her son, Jeff. “We lost her several times before the operation when she coded, and they did not know if she would make it. And since the operation, there have been many difficulties. She is in extreme pain resulting from broken ribs, which is causing the healing process to take longer. We are thankful to our good and gracious Lord for keeping Momma strong and giving her a second chance at life.”
While in Oklahoma City, Harry and Veronica Hunt, owners of Skatetown, just happened to bump into Jeff Rust, and set up the fundraiser.
For information, call Skatetown at 233-5360 or call Harry or Veronica Hunt at (580) 548-7114.
