Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is selling Christmas ornaments, giving everyone the chance to own their own piece of artwork by H. Holden, a Kremlin western artist.
This is the third year RSVP has sold Christmas ornaments by Holden. This year’s ornament is titled “The Christmas Colt.”
“It is pewter and the Christmas colt has a little red bow,” said Christy Baker, RSVP assistant director.
The ornament is three-dimensional and solid pewter. The front depicts the colt, and the reverse side has the name of the ornament, the year and that it is made by Holden. It comes in a red velvety pouch.
There are a limited number because only a specified number ornaments were created by Holden for RSVP.
“There are a limited amount. No more will be ordered. We have 800,” Baker said. “In 2007 we sold out, and there are a limited amount of 2008s left. The 2008s are the ‘Christmas on Chisholm Trail.’”
They can be purchased for $20 each and exclusively available at RSVP. Proceeds go to benefit RSVP.
“The proceeds will go to benefit programs such as Enid mobile meals and other senior programs,” Baker said. “They are tax deductible.”
The ornaments are available at the RSVP information center and also will be sold at Way Out West and Holden Art and Law.
RSVP information center is on the southwest corner of Garriott and Van Buren. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Call 233-5914 for information.
