An accident Wednesday morning sent one woman to the hospital and resulted in an arrest of an Enid man. Anthony Backus was eastbound in the 700 block of East Maine about 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to an Enid Police Department report. He attempted to make a left turn on to 7th as Kayla Peterson crested the hill in the 600 block of East Maine. Peterson applied the brakes but struck Backus, according to the report.
Peterson was transported to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with head, neck and back injuries and was treated and released. Backus was arrested on a complaint of causing an accident with minor injuries without a valid license.
