Renovation work on Enid High School is just around the corner.
On the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Enid Public Schools board of education is a change to the guaranteed maximum price of the high school work and a change in the contract with Henson Construction, the local company hired to oversee the job and bring it in within the agreed budget.
Two other construction-related changes the board will consider are a change in the Rick Scott Construction Company contract for Hoover Elementary School renovations and the Rick Lorenz Construction Company contract for ground work for Prairie View Elementary School.
Besides construction contracts, board member will deal with a lengthy agenda of routine contracts for the 2011-12 school year. These include:
• Contracts for seven band consultants.
• Agreements to provide educational services for school-aged residents of the Garfield County Juvenile Justice Detention Center, Robert M. Greer Center, Sequoyah Group Home and Integris Bass Behavioral Health.
• Contracts with nine outside agencies to provide counseling, speech therapy, occupational therapy, mobility services and shredding services for the district.
• Contracts to hire 44 teachers and three support people.
• An agreement with Lead Guitar for coordination of private funding and provision of guest artist and master guitarist instruction.
• An agreement with Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
• Three-year agreements with The Commons, YWCA of Enid and Greenbrier Nursing Home to use their facilities for 4-year-old programs.
Additionally, the school board will consider appointing a school district treasurer and custodians for the Enid High School Activity Fund. They will consider changing graduation requirements to 23 total credits and changing the district’s school calendar option to 1,080 hours in school instead of the number of days in the school year.
