ENID, Okla. —
A major water line feeding some of the larger industries in Enid will be shut off Tuesday to repair a break in the line.
Jacob Foos, city of Enid spokesman, said the line broke at about 2 p.m. Monday. The 20-inch water line impacts the area south of Garriott to Market, and 54th to Kremlin Street, about a one-mile radius that includes Enid Mack Sales and Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Northwest Oklahoma.
Foos said the outage also will affect Koch Nitrogen and South Fork Water Authority.
The water will be shut off at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Crews will dig up the line, find the leak and replace that section of pipe. City officials will contact all of the affected businesses. Foos said the pipe is from the 1970s era, and the leak was caused by normal wear and tear.
