ENID, Okla. —
A fundraiser dinner to support the Shoes for Kids project of Enid Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 31 is planned for Saturday.
On the menu will be turkey or ham, buttered potatoes, tossed salad, Jell-O salad, green beans and rolls. Dessert will include pies and assorted dessert breads.
Proceeds will support the annual Shoes for Kids event, scheduled for Dec. 15. The lodge provides new shoes and gift baskets for needy children and feeds them and their families a meal. Last year, the operation handed out more than 400 pairs of shoes.
Lodge member Larry Schafnitt said the lodge has done the Shoes for Kids project for several years, and a number of fundraisers have been held this year to make it even bigger than last year.
“It is a simple thing, but those kids get the biggest smiles on their faces,” Schafnitt said.
The dinner will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the Odd Fellows Hall, 426 N 30th. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
Reservations can be made to Randall Oswald at (580) 484-3292 or Vesta Fulcher at (580) 366-9311.
