A 59-year-old Freedom man was killed in a single-vehicle accident about 7 p.m. Monday on a county road in Woods County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Gary Leroy Murrow died in the accident three miles north of Waynoka.
The patrol reported Murrow was the passenger in a pickup that went off the road and rolled two and one-half times into a field. According to the OHP report, Murrow was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
The driver of the 1994 Chevrolet S14, Kylene Rachelle Whiteman, 19, of Woodward, was treated and released at an Alva hospital.
The report lists “unsafe speed for type of roadway” as the cause of the accident and indicates alcohol may have been involved.
